Keshet Dreams at the 6th annual IAC Gala

On March 9, 2014, Keshet Chaim performed at the Israeli American Council’s 6th Annual Gala. Along with Keshet’s classic numbers, the dancer’s also introduced a new act of aerial dance, which incorporates ribbons connected to the ceiling. Keshet demonstrated its passion for combining the traditional Israeli pieces with modern dances and forms of art. Actress Yafit Josephson hosted the event, and Noam Bardin was the keynote speaker. The Israeli American Council also welcomed Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer and a live performance by Israeli rock group Ethnix. 
 

Keshet Chaim preps for 2014-2015 NATIONAL TOUR

Artistic Director Eytan Avisar, Executive Director Genie Benson and Managing Director Leah Bleiweis are attending the APAP (Association of Performing Arts Presenters) 2014 conference, the worlds leading conference for the performing arts, on January 10-14 in NYC - BRRRRR. Oxnard College Arts Lecture Series - Featuring Keshet Chaim

On November 20, 2013, Keshet Chaim presented a lecture demo for the Oxnard College students. Director of Education Cecilia Hanono was invited as a guest speaker to lecture on the history and roots of Israeli folk dance, which showed Keshet Chaim’s source of inspiration. The company performed as well to demonstrate how Israel’s history is used as a base to create a successful dance ensemble.

 

OC Jewish Arts Festival - Closing Ceremony

Keshet Chaim performed “Colors of Israel” as the closing event for the Orange County Jewish Arts Festival at the Merage Jewish Community Center in Irvine. Keshet performed six pieces along side singer Gilat Rappaport and Pianist Avli Avliav. The festival was created to celebrate Jewish art, music, and literature and brought Keshet Chaim as the grand finale to tie it all together.

 

Israel in the Streets

“Israel in the Streets”, Keshet Chaim’s flash mob program, educates the population of Los Angeles about Israeli culture. The launching flash mob was held in MacArthur Park where the company and friends surprised the public with a memorable dance followed by drum circles and folk dancing.

 

 

An Anniversary to Celebrate

A behind-the-scenes look at contemporary dance company Keshet Chaim gives audience a chance to see what happens before the curtains open. Celebrity host Yafit Josephson took us on a journey through the history of Keshet: from 30 years ago with artistic director Eytan Avisar straight through pre-show rehearsals. The dynamic multi-faceted ensemble has been praised by international press for passion and originality.

Dance is to Politics...

On March 3 and 4, 2013, Keshet Chaim performed to a crowd of 15,000 at the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington DC – an American organization committed to protect and promote the U.S. Israel relationship. On the first night they performed for an event for young leaders and on the second night for the general assembly. Watching Keshet Chaim perform were more than two-thirds of Congress, 200 student government presidents from all 50 states, and more than 2,000 students from over 400 campuses nationwide.

 

Happy Chinese New Year for ICN TV

Keshet represented Israel in the gala celebration of Chinese New Year at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on January 26, 2013. This performance was broadcasted all over the world on ICN, a Chinese television network that connects Americans with the Chinese culture year-round. The audience was impressed with Keshet Chaim’s ability to bring Israeli traditions to America and even China.

 

 

LA Clippers 

On Jewish Heritage Day at the Staples Center on December 9, 2012, Keshet Chaim was invited by the Los Angeles Clippers to perform at the half-time show. In celebration of Chanukah, Keshet spread Israeli spirit to 18,000 fans.

 

 

 

Playing in the Snow

Keshet Chaim traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, to perform and play in the first snow of the winter. On November 10, 2012 Keshet took its original choreography to the famous Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center to represent Israel in yet another part of America.

 

 

Rami Kleinstein

Keshet Chaim produced a show with Rami Kleinstein, legendary Israeli singer and composer, at American Jewish University in October of 2012. Rami was a judge on Israel’s The Voice and was also voted “Singer of the Year” after one of his albums reached triple platinum. This intimate concert included Rami and his piano, with a duet by two Keshet dancers to choreography by Kobi Rozenfeld.
