IDAN RAICHEL PROJECT

Kodak Theatre, Hollywood
Presented by: Keshet Chaim, Teev Events and Blazer Communications

Following a sold-out performance in Los Angeles in February, top Israeli “World Music” recording artist Idan Raichel returned for one night only at Hollywood’s prestigious Kodak Theatre.  The performance of “Idan Raichel Project” marked the first-ever performance by an Israeli artist at the world-famous Kodak Theatre, known as home to the Academy Awards®. The concert will include performances by the Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble, producers of the show along with Phil Blazer and Teev Productions.

Just voted “Group of the Year, 2005” in Israel, the 28-year old dreadlocked Israeli songwriter/recording artist is, perhaps, Israel’s hottest export and one of the most popular World Music artists today. With his newest release, “Out of the Depths,” (February 2005, Helicon Records) already a platinum album, and his debut release, “The Idan Raichel Project” multi-platinum, the concert is expected to sell out quickly.  Raichel’s last L.A. show in February, part of a 16-city tour, sold out quickly. “The Idan Raichel Project” was voted “Album of the Year,” with four hit singles which yielded another award for “Song of the Year” for “If You Go” (“Im Telech”). Raichel also earned “Best Artist of the Year, 2002” from Israel’s national radio channels.  This success earned him an invitation to perform at Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD festivals in England and Singapore, as well as at the Cervantino International Festival in Mexico.

Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble, which opened the show, is known as the most important Israeli-American dance troupe in America today.  Featuring thirty (30) international dancers, Keshet Chaim is a 25-year old repertory ensemble showcasing traditional and contemporary Jewish and ethnic dance and music.

This project is sponsored in part by The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, The Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles, Shalom LA, Blazer Communications, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and the CIM Group.
