COSTUMES

Costume Mistress: Sue Avisar has been with Keshet Chaim from day one with her husband and Keshet Artistic Director Eytan Avisar. She has always been the backbone of the company, with her support and personal commitment. She is solely responsible for the props and costumes for every Keshet Chaim show, including care, maintenance, fittings and alterations.

DESIGNERS:

Nili Glazer, born and raised in Israel, studied art at the Avni Academy in Tel Aviv. During her studies she worked at the Kameri Theater as an Assistant Stage Designer. In the past 20 years Nili exhibited her art work in over 100 galleries and art centers in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, England and Germany, as well as her own gallery in Denmark. Nili has been working with Keshet Chaim since 1992, designing and creating the company's costumes and accessories. Her costumes are mostly hand-painted silk.  Presently Nili is the Director of EDAS and SIBA, producing ballet workshops throughout Europe.

Rachel Shachar's recent costume design credits include: The Road to Saigon at the East West Players, an independent film titled The Mudman, The Maids at the Eclectic Company Theatre, and Der Freischütz at the West Bay Opera. She also designed Stray and The Debate Over Courtney O-Connell for the Chalk Repertory Theater in Los Angeles. She designed Danton’s Death, DanceALIVE!, The Skin of Our Teeth, and the new play Near East, at UC San Diego. Rachel also costumed a dance titled Still Undecided for the Hybrid Authorship Project. In addition, she assisted David Zinn on Tobacco Road at the La Jolla Playhouse, and Holly Hynes on a piece at the Julliard School in New York. She worked in the Bay Area designing several productions including: Boys From Syracuse at 42nd Street Moon, Media the Musical at Theater Rhinoceros and Cyrano de Bergerac at Show Gun Players. She received her MFA in costume design from UC San Diego in 2009.

Chen Marciano always loved to paint and draw. She found that this passion for the arts is coming to life by designing amd sewing clothing. She is currently attending Los Angeles Trade Tech College with a major in Fashion Design. Chen has been the assistant costume mistress for Keshet Chaim since 2005 and started desigining in 2011. Chen is passionate about her love for costume design and will continue her education and major to accomplish her goals.
